YAKINIKU MARUZEN

About us and our commitment

Maruzen first started business in 1978 as a small yakiniku (Japanese BBQ) increasing our stores in Kyotango, Kyoto Prefecture and has since grown to a restaurant chain corporation. Our quality beef and original sauces have earned Maruzen its favorable reputation and has quickly grown in popularity.
Maruzen continues to offer the best quality meat and service while steadily increasing our stores in Kyotango, Kyoto Prefecture and Northern Hyogo. We have an on going commitment to make our stores cherished by everyone.

Committed to bringing you the best

Scrupulous attention and quality control is used when choosing the beef that will become the face and life source of Maruzen’s branding. A close eye is kept on the constantly changing meat market, we carefully choose domestically raised Wagyu cattle from various parts of Japan. We particularly favor Wagyu (Japanese cattle) beef. Our professionals pay close attention to every small detail of the beef’s complexion so as to not over look the finest of the meats. Maruzen then cures the purchased certified beef to further enhance its umami flavor to the fullest for our customers’ satisfaction.
Additionally, our stores have received permission from the department of health for the sales of Yukhoe, a popular Korean dish of seasoned raw beef topped with an egg yolk. Our Yukhoe is not your average yukhoe that you buy pre packed in the markets. We use carefully hand picked round wagyu beef that has been pasteurized and vacuumed sealed, it is then prepared by hand at our restaurants and served to you.

Purchaser of whole Japanese Black Cattle

Regardless of the place of origin, only female cattle are chosen. Buy purchasing whole you ensure that you are also getting the best and rare cuts.
Enjoy our finest “Guaranteed Yakiniku” that is the result of carefully choosing and purchasing only the best of the best.

Time honored & traditional sauces

These dipping sauces are one of the reasons why Maruzen is known as “The Yakiniku Place” of Northern Kansai region and Amino-cho. The sauces’ recipes and techniques are family tradition and have been passed on from father to son. These original sauces with over 10 ingredients, are popular for their rich, distinct sweetness and spiciness.
Our “Momidare”, made from soaking meat in the sauce, is another Tare (sauce) that accentuates the characteristic of each piece of meat and changes with each blend. This rich flavored Tare is one to be truly enjoyed.

Grill your meat to perfection, just the way you want it.

Guests order their favorite meat and other dishes and we will serve it to you pre cut. Grill the meat to your liking on the open flame grill at your table. We highly recommend dipping your meat into our traditional sauces after you have cooked it for added flavor. Take your time and savor every bite. Order as you go, each yakiniku plate is portioned as a single serving. Take a look at our menu below to see what we offer.
